Privacy Policy
1. Scope and relationship to project agreements
This notice covers information we collect when you browse our website, use its guide, send a project request, communicate with us or provide materials for a design engagement. It is intended to describe our own handling of information. A separate written agreement may contain additional confidentiality, security or data-processing provisions for an individual project.
When we review an interface using information supplied by a business client, that client remains responsible for deciding whether it may provide the information and for giving any notices or obtaining permissions required for its own users. Please use anonymized examples or test data whenever the design task can be completed without identifiable information.
2. Information you provide
The inquiry form requests your name, business email, business or organization, service interest, approximate budget, preferred timing, project description and permission for us to respond. The form also includes a submission reference and source information so the request can be understood in context. We receive the contents of communications you subsequently send to us.
During an engagement, you may provide existing layouts, content, navigation structures, brand assets, design files and feedback. Those materials can contain personal information if you include it. Do not send passwords, full payment-card details, government identification, medical records or other sensitive information through the general inquiry form.
3. Website and technical information
Hosting, delivery and security systems can process technical information such as an IP address, browser and device characteristics, requested pages, timestamps, diagnostic events and security signals. These data help deliver the website, identify misuse and troubleshoot problems. The website is provided through Shopify, whose platform systems can also use necessary cookies and similar technologies.
Our cookie controls record a privacy choice in browser storage. The request flow can temporarily keep a non-sensitive submission reference in session storage. Form values used to show the on-screen summary remain in the current page session. The Cookie Policy explains these functions and how to revisit your preferences.
4. Purposes for using information
We use inquiry information to understand the requested support, communicate with you, prepare or discuss a proposal and administer any resulting engagement. Relevant project information supports planning, usability review, interface design, prototyping, documentation, feedback management and delivery of agreed materials.
We may also use appropriate records to maintain business accounts, manage billing communications, comply with applicable obligations, address disputes, protect confidential materials and prevent fraud or misuse. A request for a response is not treated as a subscription to advertising. We do not require marketing consent as a condition of submitting a service inquiry.
5. The website assistant
The website assistant is a content-based guide to information published on this site. In the supplied website implementation, its question matching and answers run in the browser. Questions entered into that guide are not sent to an external generative-model provider or automatically delivered to Parkhurst Interface.
If you choose to ask the company directly, the guide places your question into the inquiry form where available. You must review the form, add the required contact information and submit it before the question is sent. The guide does not make a binding estimate, confirm availability, enter into a contract or make decisions about your legal rights.
6. Service providers and limited disclosures
We use Shopify for website and form functionality. Hosting, security and communication providers may process information required to deliver those functions. Where additional providers are used for an engagement, the information shared should be relevant to their role, such as file collaboration, business communication or invoicing. This policy does not identify unconfigured payment services as active website integrations.
We may disclose information when required by law or lawful process, to protect rights or safety, to investigate misuse, or in connection with a business transaction subject to appropriate protections. We do not publish submitted briefs as marketing content. Any use of client-identifying project material in a portfolio requires the permissions described in the project agreement and Intellectual Property Policy.
7. Sales, advertising and optional technologies
The supplied website sections do not include advertising pixels, a third-party advertising audience integration or a purchase flow. They do not sell personal information. Optional analytics, marketing or preference functions added to the Shopify store must be configured consistently with applicable law, the store's privacy settings and the choice recorded through its consent mechanism.
Our consent control records sale-of-data permission as false and respects a recognized Global Privacy Control signal in its marketing setting. Platform and independently installed apps remain subject to their own technical configuration. The presence of an accept button should not be understood as a statement that every category of optional technology is installed.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep information for the period reasonably relevant to an inquiry, engagement, business record or other purpose described here. Relevant considerations include whether the request remains active, whether a project is ongoing, the sensitivity of the materials, contractual requirements and applicable accounting, tax, dispute or legal obligations.
A request to delete information is considered in light of those purposes and any applicable rights. We may need to retain limited records where required or permitted by law, including evidence of transactions or the handling of a request. Unneeded copies should be removed or de-identified when they are no longer reasonably required. We do not promise a universal retention period for every type of project record.
9. Security and project materials
We use safeguards appropriate to the information and the way it is handled, including limiting use to relevant business purposes and relying on platform security for hosted functions. Please tell us before providing materials subject to a particular security obligation or regulated processing requirement so that the arrangement can be considered before transfer.
No website, email service or storage system can be guaranteed free of every security risk. If you believe information has been sent in error, credentials have been exposed or a communication is suspicious, contact us promptly. Use a secure method agreed for any materials requiring special protection rather than the general website form.
10. Requests and applicable privacy rights
You may contact us to ask about personal information associated with your inquiry or engagement, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. We may reasonably verify your identity and authority before releasing, changing or deleting records. We will explain material limitations that apply to the request.
Iowa Code chapter 715D applies to covered businesses meeting its thresholds and concerns individuals acting in a personal or household capacity, with commercial and employment contexts excluded. Where that law applies, rights can include access, deletion of provided data, a portable copy and opting out of sales. Its response period is generally 90 days, with a permitted 45-day extension, and an appeal response is due within 60 days. Applicability and any additional rights depend on the circumstances and governing law. Other mandatory privacy rights are not limited by this notice.
11. Children and geographic scope
Our website and professional consulting services are intended for business users and adults acting for a business. The general inquiry process is not directed to children under 13, and it should not be used to submit information about a child. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this website, please contact us so we can assess and address the matter.
Parkhurst Interface is based in Iowa, United States. Website and communication providers may process information in the United States or other locations where they operate. If a project requires a particular geographic restriction, international transfer arrangement or other special data-processing term, it must be agreed before the relevant information is provided.
12. Changes and contacting us
The date at the top identifies the version of this notice. We may update it to reflect changes to the website, services or applicable requirements. Material changes affecting information already collected will be handled in accordance with applicable law. A new notice does not eliminate rights that cannot lawfully be changed.
For a privacy request, use the website inquiry form and identify the request as a privacy matter, or contact us using the details below. If you seek review of a decision, identify the original request and why you believe it should be reconsidered. We will provide applicable appeal or complaint information when required.
